The conference is about networking, fellowship, education and fun. Join us as we connect the Rotary world, open Rotary opportunities and learn how through service we can create hope.

Governor’s Message

Welcome, fellow Rotarians and friends, to beautiful Penticton and to our District 5060 Conference! I am grateful for each of you taking the time and effort to spend your weekend with us.

Rotary International President Gordon McInally encouraged each of us to “Create HOPE in the World” this year. To him, that meant starting with one person at a time, by honouring those who came before us, and by remembering that every person deserves the right to feel like they matter. Our District focused on renewing HOPE for those who needed it most by providing clean water, filling backpacks or by creating hospitality packets for vulnerable citizens. We built on Past Governor Karl’s initiative of the Pollinator Highway and clubs are not only continuing to create beautiful bee friendly spaces, but we are also focusing on environmentally sustainable projects. Finally, under the guidance of President McInally, we not only ask, “How are you?”, but “How are you, REALLY?”

The weekend is full of fun activities, informative breakouts, inspiring speakers and a ton of fun! My HOPE for each of you is that you reconnect with Rotarians who you haven’t seen for a while, you create partnerships with other clubs for future projects and you start new everlasting friendships with your Rotary peeps!

My friends, we are fortunate to have the platform of Rotary to serve our communities and the world. I have been so proud and humbled to serve the District as Governor and have been inspired by many of you to continue to CREATE HOPE IN THE WORLD.

A Welcome from Conference Chair Norm LeCavalier
